How can I convince my mother to let me buy potassium nitrate?
Now I understand that this chemical can be very reactive and if used irresponsibly may result in damage to me / others. I want to order from a site in units of 100 g and were shipped to our house. A problem, you need a credit card. Being only 16, it makes me completely dependent on my parents for this purchase. My intentions are to build a "smoke bomb" using electical tape, organic dye (powder), cardboard tubes, nitrate potassium and sugar. Now the smoke itself is non-toxic. The final product (potassium and sugar cooked together) is relatively stable, and is easy to combine. It's just that my mother is fixated on the idea that im trying to make some sort of bomb out of there. No matter how persuasive the argument I use comes back to me a "bomb". I'm not even sure if its possible to make a bomb that to begin with. What I seek is approving a factual argument still I can use. Any ideas?
