How can I get my husband to throw away this down pillow that is so old and effecting our allergies?
My husband is always on the quest to find a good pillow. He had an old one that made me sick so he tried putting it in the microwave to kill anything that was alive. Fortunately, he burned it and I thought it was gone. Yesterday, he dug it out and said he thought it was new and he had washed it in bleach. This pillow weights 4 pounds and I get sick just thinking about what's in it. And, it's sleeping next to me every night. Gross
You could "accidentally" spill something on it, like gasoline (kidding), or tell him the cat peed on it. Or go buy him a new one and get one of those mite proof cases to put on it, I think they sell them at Walmart.
Next time he wants to heat one of those up, put it in the dryer for a half an hour on high, that should pound any dust out and kill any cooties but it still might smell bad. Good luck!
