Ideas on how to mask an older, standard stove hood?
I have an older stove hood that's mounted under a set of cabinets... this kind of style:

Is there any way to disguise it by building/buying a cover for it? Unlike the one in the picture, my cabinets do not hang down on the sides of the hood.
I just took mine down and spray painted to match the kitchen and put it back up! Looks great and looks like it now belongs to the kitchen too! Blends right in! If that's not what you want then how about taking it down and replacing it with a false front........ Just a nice piece of wood stained or painted to match your cabinets and do a little router edge or scalloped edge on the wood. You could get creative and make it a spice rack by recessing it enough to hold your favorite spices!
