What size (mm) hook do you usually use with size 3 crochet thread?
I have a model that calls for size 10, is it acceptable use size 3 instead? Then use patterns substitutions if you change the hook size to match?
It really is not a hook "normal" size for use with it. I saw models that use many different sizes of hooks with wire hook size 3. If you Substitute a different thread and hook size, everything you will eventually hook size different from the original model, so please take this into account.
