what is the most effective way to clean vintage shoes?
I found a nice pair of vintage shoes at a thrift store that are in very good condition, however, I am hesitant to wear them as I have heard repeatedly that people can get foot fungus, etc., even if the shoe is cleaned thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and Lysol. How does one go about cleaning the footwear (other than ideas rubbing alcohol above / Lysol method). Can be dry-cleaned leather shoes? And, if so, which kill most germs in the shoe? Also, if I wore socks with these shoes that reduce my chances of getting something. Obviously look very clean, but who knows this microscopic that cache there - I'm not sure if lysol kill all microbes.
You can try a shoe disinfectant and cleaning. Here is a link that will give you more info on this: http://www.squashdesignusa.com/Indoor-Court-Shoes-p/shoe-disinfectant-deodorizer.htm In addition, some people use spray Lysol to disinfect shoes. If you want to try than just give a short spray inside each shoe. Good luck!
