about rental rights?
ok i know i just put a quetion on,but i think i should explain it better.i moved into my apartment about 5 years ago.i never had a problem with my old landlord when a problem occured he would buy the supplies and my boyfriend would fix it. but now i got a new landlord,my rent was caught right to dat,the only thing was he did not want to buy supplies or fix anything.even though my boyfriend offered to do the job,as long as he bought the supplies.now,he is the landlord almost 2 years in jan, and since he became the landlord i have been asking him to fix things and he will not do it,my son has half of a window in his bedroom,me and my boyfriend offered to put it in as long as he bought it,and as of today,he still has not done anything.thank god my boyfriend put plastic on my son's window and a heavy quilt or my son would have to have slept with my other son to keep warm/well .so i got advice not to pay the rent, now i am being evicted.help!!!!!!!!!!
What happened to the other half of your sons window? This would be damage that you, the renter, is responsible for. Your old landlord may have repaired things that you were supposed to be paying for and has depleted your deposit.
But, even though this is your dime, he does have to make sure there is a window. Let him know that you need it installed or you will call the housing authority.
Some windows are required to be tempered glass, they can take over a week to order.
